Fall Table Setting and Dinner with Friends

On Sunday we had friends over for dinner. Since our weather has turned a little fall like, spaghetti and meatballs sounded great. The whole menu included tomato and olive Bruschetta, Greek salad, creamed spinach, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and chocolate chip chess pie.

Mr. Sparkling wanted to dine in our dining room. Imagine that! We could actually use the dining room instead of it just looking pretty. Great idea! At any rate since painting the room a very pale blue I had not purchased table linens to go with the new pallet. So off to Pier One to find something that would make the evening festive.

I found a great runner with a dark teal back ground and accents of red and orange. It looked so fun and fall like. I already had some great looking rattan chargers and the tortoise shell glassware. I found the most beautiful colored roses and arranged them in three low vases so conversation would not be interrupted by some type of stem protruding.

I will share the recipe for the creamed spinach tomorrow.

I am beyond impressed! Love those colors. And you must definitely post the creamed spinach recipe: that's my son-in-law's favorite side dish!
