Today I took seven of Son 2's friends to the Fair where we met even more friends. I was a little worried about me being the only adult with seven teenage boys. I was the only adult for about an hour and then reinforcements came to the rescue. These boys were an absolute joy and totally hilarious. It is really fun to listen to their conversations. I must give a nod to my adult friends. We were so busy trying to keep up with the boys that I did not get their photo.
In the first group photo of the boys they were not happy that I was taking their photo. After convincing them that the second photo would be the last if they smiled, I got the happy faces you see. The rest of the photos are some of the other friends that joined us later.
I took a photo of the Chocolate Covered (DIPT) Corn Dog and the Deep Fried Kool-Aid sign because I figured if I said they had this at the Fair I might be thought a fool. I let the boys decide what they wanted to eat for lunch and I must say I was very proud of their choice. Pizza and lemonade. One boy got a funnel cake and it really looked good. I just could not eat any of the food. Fried dill pickles did call my name but all I could think is how awful I would feel after I ate them. I was ravenous when we finally got back home.
I am not sure what I will be preparing for dinner tomorrow night but I think it will be along the healthy side. Just seeing all of that fried food really got to me.

You win the Purple Heart for Parenting Bravery for sure! (And for dietary wisdom:):)...I must admit, I do recall Pronto Pups fondly from my childhood...I'd slather it with a ton of mustard and lick it off like cake icing. And that Malone's taffy...mmmm...fond memories.
Great-looking group of guys.
Is it bravery or stupidity? I will say it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces. I love these boys and have known most of them most since kindergarten.
Looks like fun!
